At Perdiswell Farm we are passionate about wildlife and it’s importance to the future of our business.  We started by entering the Countryside Stewardship Scheme in 2000 and continued on to Entry Level Environmental Stewardship Scheme in 2007.

We now have well established field margins and a wonderful range of habitats for all forms of wildlife. Our achievements include planting over 10 acres of woodland, 4 miles of new and replacement hedgerow and nearly 10 miles of field margins across the farm in the last 20 years.

In addition, a new wildlife pond and a number of owl and bird boxes have helped to boost the bird population too. We now have numerous breeding Skylarks, Corn buntings, Yellowhammers, Linnets and Lapwings, plus Brown Hares in nearly every field and Curlews on the airfield.  Even more excitingly Grey Partridge made a return 3 years ago with the largest cubby that has been seen numbering over 30 birds.
