James Price wins Farmers Weekly Young Farmer of the Year 2009

Farmers Weekly Young Farmer of the Year awards ceremony 2009

James won the Farmers Weekly Young Farmer of the Year Award in 2009 which recognises his business acumen along with his farming ability and desire to expand the business.  This has led to a number of opportunities to speak at events from the HGCA Milling Wheat and Scottish Farming conference and a number of local farming clubs.  He has even appeared on television with Gordon Ramsay and more recently ITV’s ‘Tonight’ programme talking about food production.

In 2011 James went on to win a brace of awards including the Warburtons Milling Wheat Grower for the South of England and the National Association of British & Irish Millers (NABIM) & Crops Magazine Milling Wheat Grower of the Year.  The Warburtons award was presented by Brett Warburton and one of their Bakeries and recognises James’ ability to deliver consistent top quality wheat, on time, to the baker’s mills.  The NABIM & Crops Magazine award was judged on farm and again looked at James ability to grow top quality wheat for the baking industry.  He was in competition with others from Essex to Northumberland and was presented with his award at the Ritz Hotel by Michael Moreland, President of NABIM.
